What constitutes as, "an year of experience"?

 I have a simple question.  I've worked as an intern for a few summers, and currently in Co-op now.  But what constitutes as an year of experience?  In another words, do I judge a summer job as an year of experience, or treat it more realistically, like 3 months?


It may seem like a stupid question, but I do get confused by it.

You can add your internship as part of your years of experience.  There is no rule that you can't. Anything to get in front of thejob  interviewer!

I think I worded that wrong.  Say I make it into an internship that lasts 3 months.  Do I have to record this as only 3 months of experience, or can I lightly write that as 1 year?

Absolutely, I've been into 2 interns and 1 coop (the one I'm in right now).  I've experienced two different software development cycles, one agile and quick, while the other, careful and meticulous.  Oh, and they're definitely relevant to
