Posted about 1 month ago I'm very passionate about what I got my degree in. I have a BFA in Digital Art & Design. I really want to do something in my major but it's seeming hopeless and near to impossible. I don't want to become a professional office intern etc or become one of those people who just have a job for the money and are miserable. Anyone feel this way? |

| Posted about 1 month ago Totally agree with you on this topic....I am an elementary school teacher with three years experience. I was one of the "unlucky ones" laid off due to budget cuts in our state and have tried very hard to get an interview with all of the schools that were hiring in my county at the start of the school year. Sadly, I only got one and was told I had to compete with 150 other applicants for the teaching position! Not only do I have tuition loans to pay back, I also have a home mortgage (I am a divorced single parent) and all the bills associated with that!!! It is truly a disheartening endeavor to work so hard at something I strived to be in life only to find myself barely surviving on the meager unemployment checks and the little that remains of my savings account. ~ |

| Posted 24 days ago I don't know anyone in my school who chose a major because they weren't passionate about it... Since the topic is about being able to use your major's knowledge, however, I'll share mine. Being a Computer Science major, I should have plenty of jobs available. Consider me picky, but I also have another interest: art. I can't find any positions that involves with Computer Graphics or the like: programming jobs that involves with artistic motivation. |

| Posted 20 days ago Well I know lots of people in Norway that studied subjects that guaranteed jobs like accounting even though they were more of the creative type- here there are some jobs that everyone wants and it is easier to just take the job in the field that you can guarantee and do the interesting things on the side atleast you have work. |

| Posted 3 days ago I am definitely passionate about the area of my degree, Organizational Management. I like making processes more efficient and my degree provides the skills in which to do that more efficiently. |
