How do you keep positive when everything is so negative?

Posted 21 days ago I graduated in May of 2009 with a BS in Electrical Engineering and have been looking for full time employment since Fall 2008, I took advantage of all career fairs, all the career center's advice on resume forming, interview ettiquite and showing yourself as a good candidate. Despite my efforts and the handful of interviews (out of thousands of applications), I now work at Wal-Mart and live with my parents. When everything is so "You're not good enough," how do you keep from travelling down the spiral of depressing thoughts? How do you remain positive and not wash away all the negativity with a bottle of vodka. How do you maintain hope when everyone assures you that for you, there isn't any? |

| Posted 18 days ago Whatever it is, the answer is NOT suicide. I'd suggest searching, time and time again. Yes, you should apply for some lowly McDownloads/Walmart jobs, so long as they don't force you to buy their stocks, but at the same time, you suddenly have a lot of time on your hands. Try ang try again. If your college has an incubator center, try there. There's a lot of desperate business. |

| Posted 12 days ago I know it seems that things are bad, but what you need to try and do is to think of something positive. It can be something small, like remembering at good time or thinking how much better things will be when you are on your own again. This year hasn't been good for me either, but after everything I have been through I still try to think positive, because I know things will get better and turn around. It's harder to stay positive, but challenge yourself everyday. Good luck to you |
