Introducing the (Paid!) Community Manager Bootcamp

JUNE 23, 2011 — In 2 months, get trained by authorities on community management and help build an engagement strategy for twenty-something professionals. What will you be doing?

  • Participating in Community Management Bootcamps led by Kathy O’Reilly, Director of Social Media Relations, and Ryan Paugh, community-building expert and Founder of
  • Using your passion for social media to execute a community-building strategy with Monster.
  • Learning all about social media marketing metrics and how to measure your own success during the 3-month project and beyond in your career.
  • Providing ongoing quality-assurance feedback and ideas to the development team so they can improve the application’s user experience.
  • Lots Tweeting, Facebooking, blogging and more!

Qualifications we’re looking for:

  • Extreme enthusiasm for all things tech/social media related.
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from four year, accredited bachelor’s degree program; marketing, communications, public relations, journalism or related field of study highly preferred.
  • Experience with and advanced knowledge of social media platforms, including demonstrated track record of building followers, fans and connections on social networks like Facebook and Twitter.
  • Excellent written communication skills for business and new media; must be able to write, edit and publish original content for a variety of platforms and audiences. Basic WordPress (or similar CMS) and basic HTML knowledge required.
  • Basic understanding of SEO/SEM and Social Media Optimization and able to infuse best practices (keyword targeting, topic trending, social bookmarking, etc.) into work on an ongoing basis
  • Experience with new media creation, publishing and optimization, such as editing, shooting, converting and uploading YouTube videos, SlideShare presentations, Flickr images, etc.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) required; experience with online monitoring, analytics and reporting strongly preferred.

NOTE: This is a paid, 10- week, full time internship program. All candidates must be able to commit to working June 27 – August 30, 2011. Interns will be working remotely/virtually, so having your own computer and wireless internet connection is required.
