The Judas

Watch your back

The Culprit: Sure, he’s a partner on paper, but he’s surely not an ally. Always looking to get ahead, he’ll chuck you under your chin while stabbing you in the back. Offices are breeding grounds for rabid go-getters striving to be top dog. Duplicity, hidden agendas, and outright deception are par for the course. There’s a lot to be said for healthy competition, but when two-faced players forget the goal, it’s time to rein it in. Beware of partners pointing the finger, not pulling their weight, or blowing the whistle.

The Cure: Partnerships can be tricky. There are egos at play and everyone’s got his eye on a promotion. Make sure you play to each of the partners’ strengths so as to not pit them against each other. Split up responsibilities and make the assignment lines crystal clear.
